Mouse Trap

I opened our fridge to get some milk out and right there in front of me is a huge block of cheese out of its wrapper with a chunk taken out of it. Next to it is a butter knife. I call out, "Who did what to the cheese?" and Deacon yells back, "I used some for my mousetrap" (we recently checked out Ratatouille from the library Ü). So I asked him how he made a mouse trap and he said out of a hanger and a hammer and some cheese. I asked him to show it to me. He said he already took it apart. I asked him where the cheese was now...."Oh, I ate it!"

Happy Feet vs. Madagascar

The first (of many times) my son looks at me like I know nothing:

He wanted penguin fruit snacks from the Happy Feet movie.
I bought these.
He informs me that is NOT Happy Feet, but Madagascar. Geez mom!

Overheard...

While I was preparing my sharing time lesson: "Mom, I think your lesson is going to be fantastic!"

While dancing crazy in the living room: "My priorities are flying away!"

While reading his Lego magazine: "I sing in the shower and I don't like lima beans!"

"I left a tomato outside so it could decayed (his words). I learned it on Sid the Science Kid!"

March 2012: Deacon was on Grandpa Hunts lap and noticed some white chest hair sticking up out of his shirt. He said, "Grandpa, why do you have spider webs there?"
