The Rest of May

Wrapped in my silky bathrobe :)

He is so creative, he made these super-hero-x-ray glasses out of safety goggles covered in black electrical tape. Yeah, you literally could not see out of them but somehow they allowed you to see through others like an x-ray ;)

He loves to pose for the camera and then look at the picture after I take it. This is an action shot above. Then I love how shy he looks in the picture below, because he is NOT shy. I was taking a picture of the chair to sell and he was trying to act like a casual model by placing one hand on it. It was too funny.

He went on the Father's and Sons outing with Nate. They went up a few hours early and got to shoot guns on the side of the road (not an official sanctioned activity).

Here he is with his two best friends: his brown blee-blee (blanket) and Landon :)

Sunny Yawns and Glass Sheets.

Two quick things (I'm blogging real time hereÜ) :
Deacon was yawning just now so I told him maybe he needed to take a nap. Then he looked at me seriously and said, "No mom. Yawns don't mean I'm tired. They mean that the air from the sun came into my mouth and made me yawn." He was so serious, it must really make sense to him.

Also, here is a "great idea" Deacon came up with:
His cousin stayed the night and slept in his bed (he slept in mine because Nate was at work). Anyway his cousin had an accident and wet the bed. It was so cute the next morning because she told Deacon the next morning, "Deacon, I am so sorry I wetted your bed with pee." And Deacon was very patient about it. Anyway, I was talking to Nathan about putting a new barrier between his sheets and the mattress to prevent future accidents. Anyway, I had no idea Deacon was paying attention until he piped up and said, "I know mom! We should get GLASS sheets! Then the pee-pee won't get on the mattress!!!" He thought it was the greatest idea ever :)

Wonderful Woman

I went to a little event on Thursday night and when I arrived back home Nathan was reading to Deacon in his bed. So I popped my head in to say goodnight. I was wearing humongous earrings and a cute little shirt and hat. Deacon looked up and saw me and said, "Mom, you look cute...like a wonderful woman." Ü We still don't know where he learned "wonderful woman", but it was cute.

Out Of The Mouths of Babes...

I was talking to Deacon tonight before bed about making good choices and choosing the right and how it makes us happy and makes Heavenly Father happy and he said, "But mom, bad guys don't choose the right. And bad guys don't wear seatbelts either."

Desert Botanical Garden Field Trip

Deacon's last field trip of the year was to Desert Botanical Garden in May.
This is him (left) with his buddy Landon.

You weren't allowed to catch the butterfly, but if you got one to land on your finger you could hold it!

"It almost looks like a giant," Deacon said about the cactus
