Firestation Field Trip

Deacon's preschool took a field trip to our local firestation!
Addy was very good for the presentation....better than some of the four year olds!

Addy loves to do EVERYTHING her big brother does.

Surrogate Mom?

I was taking some pictures of things I want to list on ebay and Deacon kept inching in to my shot. Finally he asks, "Mom, will you take a picture of me?" So I said yes and he took that to mean he needed to pose with the clothes:

He loves to look at the picture right after I take them. So he crawls on my lap and we scroll through the pictures. Then we start the whole process over again with the next outfit!

January 2011

I love this picture below. Adelaide just received a new kitchen for Christmas and Deacon promptly commandeered it for his rocket ship. He would straddle it and make these "rocket" noises and take off!

Hey, even superheroes have to take a potty break sometime!

....and snack breaks too!

I love that he decided to make a kite one day when he noticed it was really windy....
Too bad a piece of paper on the end of a long piece of tape doesn't fly very well no matter how much wind there is!
He always make the cutest and most serious facial expressions when he's trying to explain something important to me, so I had to snap these next 3 when he was telling me something:

He announced that this was his new video game, sounds good to me!

"When A Little Boy...."

I think I've mentioned the "Little Boy" that Deacon always throws out for hypothetical situations. A few months ago I had written down that he said, "When a little boy goes to the toy store, he tells his mom he wants to buy a Batman costume."

Napkins

This happened a few months ago:

Deacon was wiping syrup from his mouth onto the sleeve of his shirt and I asked him not to do that. He said, "What (pause) ever. Nobody needs napkins."

Not sure where he learned 'whatever'....

Then this happened this week:

Deacon didn't know I was watching him but he started to wipe his mouth on his sleeve and then just stopped. Then he looked up at me and noticed I was watching him and then I asked him if he needed a napkin and he said yes (progress!). Then, two days later we were having lunch at the table together and he started to wipe his mouth on his sleeve again, but instead reached across the table and grabbed a piece of paper (!) and wiped his mouth with it. Then he started laughing hysterically because he knew paper is not for wiping ;)
